But for Today

Posted on June 30, 2014. Filed under: Uncategorized |

Today I felt better than I have in a long time. I just returned from an 11 day vacation visiting family. It was amazing. Not only the family time, but the getting away from all my responsibilities for awhile. It’s the first real vacation I’ve had in several years. It was much needed. Today at work, I actually felt well-rested and as if stress had been lifted off. But there was a little voice in the back of my mind that told me I shouldn’t get too excited. What if that feeling doesn’t last long? What if life starts crashing down on me again in a pouring rainstorm and I am back to square one of being worn out by this time next week? But Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. And nothing can take away the special times and memories from my vacation. And for today, I can be at rest and thankful. One day at a time. And I do pray that the rest I had will carry me through for awhile. 😉

I’m glad you are back, rested and refreshed. There is nothing more wonderful than quality time spent with loving family. (Although playing with paper is pretty cool, too.) I hope your refreshed spirit carries you onward throughout the summer. – Fawn
