Just another day of….purpose!

“All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:16

When you look back on your life, there are some days that you remember–some that will be seared in your memory forever, whether good and bad. But for the most part, you couldn’t say what exactly you did on such and such a day in such and such a year. Part of it is because of our limited human memories. But I also think part of it is because we live for the “monumental” moments. And everything else is just the in between times of counting down to those times. And in certain seasons in our lives, days are just another day of school. Another day of work. Another day of the tedious and boring while we’re waiting for our lives to get exciting again. I know that’s where I’m at right now. But that’s not how God sees our lives. According to the above verse, He has a plan for EVERY single day. Every day was ordained. Every day has purpose. Our response should be to hand the reigns over to God every day and let Him show us the purpose He planned for this day. It gives me goosebumps to think that this day, another ordinary day of work, has a purpose that was planned, that was written, long before I was even born! 🙂

THis reminded me of the Chris Rice song “Life Means so much”: each day is a gift you’ve been given/make the most of your time every minute you’re living. Each day is a gift that God’s planned for us, ordinary or extraordinary! Thanks for posting.
